Darrin, Garret and Sara Notch 1st Wins of the Season 12207 TEAM, that four letter word that defines Harrison Motorsports, was displayed all weekend long at the Rock Maple Racing season opener at Whaleback Mt. in Enfield, NH. With little to no time to dial in the new Ski-doo Rev XP race sleds , our racers fought hard on the track and our crew busted their butts to give them the best sleds they could. And it paid off with 3 wins, 2 runner-ups and 3 third place finishes! We said in our season preview write-up that Sara was really focused on this season and she left no doubt as she swept the qualifying and final rounds of the Jr. Girls Stock 600 class. Sara's win helped spark the team's efforts on Sunday and got her season off to a great start. Jordan was a ski loop away from Pro: Darrin "CRANKS it up for Pro Open Win Darrin Mees continued where he left off last season, that being on the podium. This time it was for his first-ever Pro Class win. The incredible "Crank Shop" power carried Darrin and C.W. Sirjane to the top two spots in the New England Dodge Dealers Pro Open final. After Danny Poirier got the early lead, Darrin and C.W. both turned up the wick and got by Poirier and used teamwork to score the 1, 2 finishes. Darrin was able to check out in the later laps as C.W. battled Poirier while negotiating lapped traffic. With 2 to go, C.W. was able to gain on Darrin and closed within a few sled lengths for his second runner-up finish on the day.
Semi Pro: Shaun Podiums in Open Final Shaun St. Onge ran well in qualifying in the Semi Pro Stock 600, but had to settle for a 6th place finish in the final. It was the other way around in the Semi Pro Open qualifying, where Shaun struggled, but still made the Open final field. Shaun had to battle through the pack for a hard-earned third place finish. Again, the Crank Shop power was evident as Shaun sliced his way through the field. After sitting out a year of racing, Nate Loschiavo had the cob webs shaken out okay, he just needed a little luck in the finals. Nate qualified very well in both Semi Pro Stock and Open classes, but got caught up in wrecks in both of his finals. He looked very comfortable on the new Ski-doo/XPS Rev XPs and should have many successes this season.
Garret Mees had 3 chances for final round gold this weekend and he made good by scoring the Tekvest Sport Stock 600 win on Sunday. Garret took over the lead at the top of the hill on the first lap and never looked back on his way to his first win of the season. Garret's other podium finish came in the Sunday Sport Super Stock final where he finished third. Garret had three qualifying wins on the weekend and will certainly be a contender for the Sport title this season. It goes without saying that when a new chassis design comes from the factory, there's a learning curved involved in making the new design perform on the track. Every Ski-doo team was in the same boat this weekend, but our crew busted their backsides Saturday night top give our drivers the best shot at winning on Sunday. And they came through. Thank you guys and thank you to our great sponsors for your role in our success. WSI Landscaping Stone and Ski-doo XPS as our platinum sponsors. Were proud to represent Progressive Motorsports, Woodys Traction Products, The Crank Shop, Powermadd, New England Racing Fuel, That's Great News, C&A Pro Skis, Mars Insurance Agency, Wing Trucks and Trailers, Camoplast, Scott Goggles, Scorpion helmets, HMK, VForce3, Sledwraps.com and Extreme Exposures. This weekend we'll be at Windham Mtn. in New York's Catskill region. The race is an RMR West Division race with it also being a points race for the our Pro and Semi Pro drivers.
