31107 Wallingford Racing motors powered C.W. Sirjane and Darrin Mees to the Pro Open and SemiPro Open wins respectively. If not for a crash in the second qualifying round for Open, C.W. may have very well been number one qualifier. C.W. went 1, 8, 2 in qualifying to set up his second Pro win in as many weeks. In the Pro Stock final, C.W. had a decent start and was holding down the number two position until Jason Boron won the drag race to the finishline and he had to settle for third. With two point races left on the season, C.W. is tied for second with Jason Boron as both drivers get to drop one of their races. In the Pro Open final, C.W. came out fourth at the start and worked his way to the top early on only to battle back and forth with Jason Boron. Then Wallingford power kicked in and C.W. scored his second Pro win of the season. Currently, C.W. sits in second place in the Open points chase and is within striking distance for the title! Darrin Mees scored SemiPro win number 7 on the season when he checked out on the Garret Mees was coming off a hot 3 for 4 performance in Skowhegen and looked to continue his streak in Barton. Garret ripped off Upper and Lower Junior qualifying sweeps, but had to settle for 2nd and 3rd podium finishes instead. The bright side is that Garret contiues his hold on the top spot in both classes by 18 and 17 point margins with one race to go! Garret did manage to score his 3rd straight Upper Junior RMR East Division win on Sunday.
Jordan came back strong in the Junior Girls 600 Fan final for a solid third place finish behind Sara and Janelle Smith. In the 300 Freestyle ranks, Jordan went 2 and 2 in Saturday's qualifying and earned a hard-fought third place finish in the final. Injuries Impact HMS Riders
Harrison Motorsports regretfully is forced to finish the 2007 season without the services of Simon Belzile and Doug Decoigne.
Simon was showing signs of his Championship winning form with steady progression as the season wore on. A hard crash in the Pro Open final at the Ossipee, NH race ended Simon's season. Not only was Simon a threat on the the track, but passing his knowledge on to our younger riders was a tremendous asset for our team's success. Simon scored the emotional X-Games Qualifier win at Windham in December to start the aseason out on a high note.
Doug Decoigne has been nothing but a true warrior for Harrison Motorsports this season. Highlighted by his big SemiPro Shootout win in Schaghticoke, Doug's energy and drive to win was infectious in the HMS pits. Doug suffered a season ending leg injury this past weekend in Skowhegan and will be sorely missed by everyone on the team. Doug was on pace to a potential class championship or two as he sat atop the SemiPro Stock points chase and was 6 points out of 1st in Open before this weekend's race. |
