Sunday's first final for Doug was the SemiPro Stock 600 final were he swept his qualifiers and the final round win, holding off John O'Malley and Derek Graham. Remember last week? The T.V. crew? Who knows what would have happened? A two week sweep? The Open final saw Doug work his way up from a middle pack start to take over the lead from Dale Petrus. Doug was leading for a few before a bobble in turn 2 cost him the lead and had to settle for the 5th place finish. Doug ended his resume-padding weekend by scoring the Stock 440 win over Trevor Bouchard and O'Malley. Doug works extremely hard for these wins and it's paying off for him and the Harrison Motorsports team. Briefly, Simon's first race back from his Colorado X-Games trip netted him 3rd and 5th place finishes. C.W. hit some bad luck in the finals, but still maintained his second place standing in Pro Stock and Open points chases. Garret Mees scored a win and a runner-up finish in the Upper and Lower Junior finals and holds down the number one spot in both class standings. Sara Harrison continues her string of 2s and is improving every week, while Jordy had a tough weekend in the finals, but still leads the Sunday Freestyle standings and holds down second in Saturday Freestyle chase.

Doug and Darrin Score in SemiPro Shootout
The inaugural Go Big or Go Home SemiPro Shootout was held on Saturday and HMS riders Doug and Darrin represented well! Darrin Mees scored the Amsoil $200 Top Qualifier award which qualified him to play a little "Deal or No Deal" with J&J Racing's Jim King.
As the top qualifier, Darrin was offered $300 to give up his front row starting position and start on the second row. (pictured above) Well, Darrin was $500 richer before the race even started! Doug Decoigne has been a bull in the china shop lately rampaging through the SemiPro ranks, scoring 3 wins going into last weekend's race. Doug scored the big $2,000 win from his fifth place starting position and cemented his name as the first winner of this prestigious, annual event. Both Doug and Darrin led the pack of 15 by the second lap and started to walk away from the field. A broken limiter strap ended Darrin's bid for the title, as Doug went on to the win. We're very proud of our racers and happy to share their success with our sponsors. |
