12807 Harrison Motorsports SemiPro racer Doug Decoigne races every lap like it's his last and it's paying off with qualifying and final round wins! Double "D" went 1, 2, 2 in Stock 440 qualifying then dominated the field on his way to winning the Stock final. This certainly increases his stock for this weekend's SemiPro Shootout in Schaghticoke, a $2,000-to-Win special event for RMR SemiPro Stock racers.
Doug scored another qualifying win in the Open class, going 3, 1, 2 to qualify for the Open final. In the final, Doug got caught behind a 3 sled pile up in the early laps, but still fought hard for a solid runner-up finish.
SemiPro Stock 600 was looking very promising for Doug as he swept all 3 of his qualifying rounds. But in a first for HMS a T.V. crew, not a mechanical failure, got in the way of Doug's chance for a second win of the day. While being interviewed by a T.V. crew, Doug failed to get to staging in time for the final. Doug's request for a back row start was declined. Needless to say, we were all disappointed with the decision.
Darrin Mees was looking good on Saturday scoring 3 Stock qualifying wins and one Open win, but an injury Sunday morning forced Darrin to just take the flag in the finals. Good news is that there are no breaks and hopefully Darrin will be ready for Schaghticoke.
Sara Harrison seems to be locked into the number 2 spot in the Jr. Girls 600 finals as Sara scored another runner-up finish. Sara has her sights set on Janell Smith who has been dominating the class. Sara has been getting excellent starts, but the 14 year old Smith has been making it difficult on the whole class. Little sis Jordan was right there for the 3rd place finish.
Jordan scored two more podium finishes in the 300 Freestyle class finals going 3, 2 in Saturday and Sunday's finals. Saturday Jordy was on fire scoring two qualifying wins, but a loose helmet in the final caused her to lift so as to adjust her helmet.
