Return To Racing in Ossipee Nets 2 More Wins

2•24•08 It's been awhile since Harrison Motorsports has had a race to report on. It's been nearly 4 weeks since our last race at Essex Junction, VT in January. The February 2nd race at Stamford, NY was cancelled due to a weird, mid-winter thaw and rain showers and that carried through to the following week for the WPSA Eastern Nationals scheduled for Vernon Downs in New York. So after a scheduled week off, we returned to action in Ossipee, NH.

In the Pro action C.W. Sirjane had his perfect weekend in Pro Stock spoiled in the final and had to settle for the runner-up finish. The silver lining in that cloud was that he lost it to teammate, Darrin Mees for another HMS 1- 2 Pro finish. C.W. posted three-straight qualifying wins on Saturday in Pro Stock, which certainly helped pad his lead in the point standings. The remarkable story behind Darrin's win was his ambulance ride on Saturday after a violent crash in the third round of Pro Open qualifying. Darrin was back at the track after getting looked over and had the night to recuperate.

C.W. holeshots Pro Stock pack into first turn for one of three qualifying wins.

In the final, C.W. took the early lead and was battling Danny Poirier for the first half of the race. Meanwhile, Darrin had to work his way past Jason Boron and then Poirier before setting his sights on Dub. Darrin took over the lead with about 5 laps to go and had an exciting battle with Chris as the two HMS teammates scored the top two podium finishes.

In Pro Open, C.W. again got the holeshot but lost the lead to Poirier about 4 laps into the feature and held on for his second runner-up finish on the weekend. C.W.'s 45 point weekend at Ossipee expanded his lead to 19 points over second place Jason Boron.

In SemiPro action, an injury to Nathan Loschiavo on Saturday left Shaun St. Onge as the lone torchbearer for HMS on Sunday. Shaun carried that torch well as he scored another victory with his dominating performance in the SemiPro Stock 600 final. Shaun's m.o. for the season has been to fight his way through the pack for come-from-behind performances. This time, Shaun had a great start and took over the lead early and checked out from the field for a dominating win.

Sara Harrison didn't have sister Jordan hounding her this weekend as Jordan stayed home with the flu that has been going around. Sara remains consistent with her qualifying and final round performances scoring one qualifying win and runner-upping in the Girls 600 Fan final on Sunday. Sara remains in first place with her 216 points total.

It was good to get back to racing and the weather couldn't have been nicer in Osspiee. Once again, thanks to our hard-working crew, Keith, Scanner, Sebastien, Oscar, Doug and Jordan, for your bloody knuckles and tireless efforts. Podium finishes can't be had without a great crew and support from some of the best sponsors a team can have. Thank you all.

Jeff and Colleen

Note from Mike: Thanks for your patience and waiting for the results to be posted. I apologize for the delay in posting the results. Two long distance races and the traveling flu slowed my reports. This weekend's race at Skowhegan will be posted in a couple days, complete with new photo galleries from Ossipee and Skowhegan. Thanks again.
