Crank Shop Power Carries Darrin to Another Pro Open Win

3•16•08 Every racer in the RMR pits strives to be Champion at season's end. Win the war and hopefully a good number of the battles along the way. C.W. Sirjane's goal is the same, to be crowned Champion at the end of the season. But winning some of the battles has eluded C.W. this year despite scoring numerous second and third place finishes. That is until last weekend in Barton, Vermont.

In his first 8 races, C.W. has scored 11 runner-ups, 2 third place finishes and countless qualifying wins. That consistency has C.W. solidly in the lead in both Pro class point chases. Now he can put one in the "W" column after his determined win in the Pro Stock final at Barton. At the start Chris came out of the gate in third place. After a couple laps, he took over second place from Jason Rudd then set sights on former HMS rider, Alex Moreau. On the fifth circuit, Dub took over the lead and despite a slight bobble with three to go, he wasn't challenged. A great win after so many bridesmaid finishes.

In the Pro Open final, Crank Shop power took center stage again as HMS teammates Darrin Mees and C.W. Sirjane scored 1 - 3 finishes respectively. Darrin started in the top three at the start and worked his way past Danny Poirier and Jason Boron to score another Pro Open win. Darrin remains only 4 points out of second place in Pro Open with everyone dropping their lowest points race. If he can avoid those costly bobbles in qualifying, Darrin can very well make it a 1, 2 finish for HMS. C.W. holds a 19 point lead in Open and a 25 point lead in Stock with one race to go. Nothing is a lock so we remain very focused on solid finishes at Mt. Snow in a couple weeks.

Shaun sheds some sled weight and fights for a 3rd place finish in Open.

In SemiPro action, we've said it before, we'll say it again, "Shaun St. Onge is deadly through traffic" and he proved it again in the SemiPro Open final on Sunday. After a rough 3 rounds of qualifying on Saturday, Shaun was forced to a back row start for the final. In a major, slam-bang final, Shaun needed every lap to fight his way to the podium finish when he out-gunned Brennan Berardo for the third place finish.

Hot off her big win in Skowhegan, Jordan Harrison scored a well earned runner-up finish in the Girls 600 fan final on Sunday. Jordy posted a couple thirds in qualifying then making it count on Sunday. At the start, Jordan came out in fourth after being forced to the outside in the first turn, but kept in the hunt and chased down sister Sara and Kaitlyn Smith for a solid finish. Sara Harrison was chasing down Sarah Acker for the lead when she took a ski into the back of her leg which knocked her out of contention. Sara still toughed it out and finished fourth, but was in a lot of pain at the race's end. With two weeks off before the last race in Vermont, Sara should be ready to finish out her quest for the Girls 600 Fan title.

Jordy celebrates a hard fought second place finish.

As we get the next two weekends off before the season finale at Mt. Snow in Vermont, the sleds will be prepped, bumps and bruises will be healed and are focus remains on ending the season with a bang and hopefully, a few championship titles. None of our success could be achieved without the immeasurable support from our sponsors and the dedicated efforts of our crew. No matter the result at the end, this season was again, another great success. Happy Easter and we'll see you in Vermont.
